Even after being named the No.1 real estate agent in Queensland, No.1 in Thornlands and being ranked in the top 5 agents in the country, Ryan McCann has never been one for believing his own hype. From his rookie days, he was taught that, at the end of the day, in any property transaction, it’s all about the client – not your commission and certainly not your ego. He says remembering those wise words has been key to his success. Asked whether his million-dollar clients are any different from the first-home buyers who’ve scraped together a deposit, Ryan McCann can honestly say not at all.

“It’s an emotional process and everyone’s got the same motivations; they want to move on to the next stage in their life. For example, I got a huge buzz out of getting the highest price for Raby Bay in 2016, which was $2.975 million under the hammer. And I get the same buzz out of that as I do selling an apartment to a first-time buyer for $232,000. The people are not different at all.”

As a young 20-year-old just three years out of Ormiston College, Ryan McCann took to the real estate industry like a duck to water. He was fortunate enough to have natural sales ability, luck on his side and industry-leading mentors who taught him everything they knew, Ryan sees property sales as more of a ‘vocation’ than a career choice.

He bought his first house at 19 years of age and was the youngest person to buy a house in the sought after waterfront estate of Raby Bay.
